Kids Coasteer: Low tide coasteering adventures for you and your child with our Fistral Ranger kids club | £45pp | 2hrs | Low Intensity
Age Range: 8yrs + (under-eights must be in a private or family group)
Length of Session: Two hours
A super safe alternative to our ‘grown up’ coasteers, it is the ideal choice for families with children under 8 years old! This two-hour activity combines the safe yet exhilarating parts of our high-tide coasteers with an eco-focussed exploration, to create a thrilling, child friendly coastal adventure.
There’s a lot to be discovered in the Gazzle’s coastal nooks and crannies, an area rich in history and wildlife as the water retreats and its inter-tidal zone is uncovered. You and your own instructor will explore areas not easily accessible by other ways, and get hands on with our local tidal pools in the ultimate coasteering adventure!
We designed this adventure so that young coastal adventurers don’t miss out!
Newquay Activity Centre is situated just moments from Towan Headland’s more sheltered stretch, so perfectly positioned for you and your family to get kitted out with a top quality wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet before heading down Newquay’s old lifeboat slip.
Your personal coasteering instructors will lead you through smugglers caves, natural plunge pools and rapids whilst you explore the local flora and fauna that call our natural coastal ecosystem home.
Not only will you discover the Gazzle’s secrets, but the area’s inquisitive local wildlife will likely greet you along the way too. Grey seals, local kittiwakes and even dolphins may share your route as you traverse between the cliff base and rock pool sections, before leaping into plunge pools from low rocky ledges.
Protecting and conserving our local marine habitat is a core value from which our activities are developed, so the themes of environmental sustainability and preservation will underpin every move you and your guide make down on the Gazzle’s shores!
Kid and parent Coasteering activities:
- Clambering over rocks and through caves
- Discovering and seeing nature in its own undisturbed habitat
- Chest height wading through rock pools
- Jumping into deep water plunge pools
- Swimming with the marine life
Every coasteer is different and we adapt our activities according to the weather and ocean conditions, so tell us your ability and we’ll tailor the route to you! You’ll come away with a greater understanding and respect for ocean life after exploring it at your own pace! There isn’t a better ‘dad and lad’, ‘dad and daughter’ or ‘mum and son’ experience to find on our Cornish coastline.
