Newquay Activity Centre’s Beach Safety sessions are perfect for teaching your schoolchildren about the importance of their local beach environment and how to enjoy the sea safely and responsibly. From beach topography to beach safety equipment and first aid, they’ll return to school with vital life skills that are useful on home shores or while holidaying overseas.
Our school trips can be tailored to feature curriculum topics and key learning goals, from science, maths, English language and literature to personal development, social skills, self-confidence development, motivational skills and physical development. Your Beach Safety school activities will include:
• A two-hour session specially adapted for school trips
• Understanding the sea
• Wave formation, rips, beach topography and tides
• Discovering how sand is made
• Why the sea is blue and salty
• The role of lifeguards
• Beach safety equipment, flags, arm and whistle signals
• Basic first aid
