Military Surf Sessions

We were stoked to welcome back the Royal Navy Royal Marines Surf team for some intensive winter training sessions last week. To show our ongoing support for the military who we provide Adventurous Training to all year round, the Newquay Activity Centre are proud sponsors of the RNRM Surf club and Army Surfing. Throughout the year we provide the teams with free training sessions with the aim to help them improve and tune up their riding for future competitions.

Surf Tuition – Newquay Waves

We were really lucky to score some great waves during the two sessions and the crew made the most of it with some cracking rides. Newquay has had some of the best winter swell for years and it didn’t disappoint for these sessions either. With the help of video analysis and classroom tuition everyone was able to work on specifics and improve super fast. Head surf coach and multiple British Surf champion Johnny Fryer commented, “ The group really capitalized on the fantastic conditions and close quarters tuition. The use of video and images made it easy to establish where some of the guys were going wrong and therefore were able to tweak their technique and style.’

Newquay Surf School – Open All Year Round

The fact that we are open all year round means surfers who are looking to improve on their riding can capitalize on the great waves and swell that develop due to the low pressure systems you get this time of year. Our heated changing rooms and super warm wetsuits mean you can easily enjoy two sessions a day! Give us a call on 01637 877722 or check out our website for more details on all our activities here.
