LEARN TO STAND UP PADDLE BOARD!

With the correct safety advice and instruction, stand up paddle boarding is quick and easy to learn. First, our instructors teach you the basics, then the tour sets off with a unique and relaxing paddle around some of Newquay’s most interesting natural habitats. Most of our SUP groups begin paddling on their knees, advancing to a stand up position when they feel safe and confident to do so.

Our Eco SUP Tour has been designed to teach you many core skills including how to launch and land, stand up and balance, hold your paddle, perform basic strokes and how to make directional changes.

There is absolutely no pressure on our Eco SUP Tour; feel free to enjoy the session from the comfort of your board, or give standing up a go – it’s entirely up to you! Our experienced instructors are there to help whatever your skill level may be.

ENVIRONMENTAL FOCUS

We’ve collaborated with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust to develop a wildlife-focused paddle boarding adventure, unique for it’s chilled out vibes and educational eco-twist!

We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the paddleboards will be waiting in the cove for you.  You’ll then paddle around the sheltered coastline, exploring smugglers caves and hidden coves otherwise inaccessible from land.

NATIVE WILDLIFE

We’ve developed our SUP routes in collaboration with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust to give our instructors an in-depth knowledge of the area’s flora and fauna. Together you’ll identify the seabirds, crabs, lobsters, seal colonies and dolphins that call our coastlines home! Keep your eyes peeled for inquisitive visitors popping up beside your board!

STUNNING SCENERY

The deck of your stand up paddle board is the perfect place to view our coastline from. Not only is the scenery stunning, you’ll be able to get up close to the cliff line and, if the seas are calm, get into the caverns to take charge of the route for the ultimate tailored adventure.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS EXTREME WEATHER?

We are super fortunate to operate many of our activities in the shelter of Towan beach. We choose the tide and weather times that deliver the very best conditions for Stand Up Paddleboard Tours. However, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes she may have different plans for us. We always check the forecasted conditions but if the wind or swell picks up unexpectedly, we will move your session on to our Super SUPs, this will ensure you still cover the same route and session content but will be on a craft that is more resilient against the conditions. Alternatively, we may offer a different time or location for your tour.

Over 95% of our tours go ahead unaffected by the weather but, in the unlikely event that this does happen, we have excellent back-up options for you to choose from. We appreciate your understanding.

With safety at the forefront of our lessons, we must advise that children under the age of 8 are welcome to SUP with us but they should be accompanied by an adult and book onto a private or family group tour.

If we need to amend your stand up paddle board booking due to adverse weather, we will let you know in advance. (No need to call us). We appreciate your understanding.
