MAKING MEMORIES

Nothing quite beats the first time you try something so breath-taking such as stand up paddle boarding. It’s a buzz like no other and being big kids ourselves we’re specialists at helping young adventurers take their first experience to the max.

From the moment our sessions start to the second they end, our lessons for children are 100% safety first. We’ll get everyone kitted out in wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets and run through vital beach safety information before perfecting paddle strokes and basic manoeuvres on the beach.

We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the paddleboards will be waiting in the cove for you.

FUN AND EDUCATIONAL KIDS LESSONS

Now for the exciting bit. We’ll take to the crystal-clear water and strike out around Newquay’s stunning coastline for an exploration like never before. As we explore hidden coves, craggy inlets and otherwise inaccessible parts of the coast, tales of smuggling and piracy will bring the area’s rich history and heritage to life. As our SUP boards glide over a wonderful underwater world, there will also be marine wildlife to look out for and, if we’re lucky, friendly local seals to say hello to!

Under the guidance and tuition of some of the most qualified, experienced and insured instructors in the country, adventures with Newquay Activity Centre are all about practical learning and exploring our coastlines up close. With us, children are encouraged to push their boundaries whilst being in a safe and supportive environment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS EXTREME WEATHER?

We are super fortunate to operate many of our activities in the shelter of Towan beach. We choose the tide and weather times that deliver the very best conditions for Stand Up Paddleboard Tours. However, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes she may have different plans for us. We always check the forecasted conditions but if the wind or swell picks up unexpectedly, we will move your session on to our Super SUPs, this will ensure you still cover the same route and session content but will be on a craft that is more resilient against the conditions. Alternatively, we may offer a different time or location for your tour.

Over 95% of our tours go ahead unaffected by the weather but, in the unlikely event that this does happen, we have excellent back-up options for you to choose from. We appreciate your understanding.
