Get the ultimate adventure buzz and explore above and below the water’s surface on our brand new Snorkel Stand Up Paddle Safari!

Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, adrenaline junkie or family of coastal wanderers, we guarantee you’ll leave Newquay Activity Centre with a smile on your face and some salt in your eyebrows!

The Gazzle

With a top of the range wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and snorkel you’ll join our experienced instructors to launch the super SUP board into the stunning Gazzle coastline. This rocky playground holds an array of nooks, crannies and caves to explore and you’ll navigate the board in and around old smugglers hideouts with paddles whilst hearing its historic tales.

Whilst moored up, the SUP becomes a diving board from which to leap into the water in a series of jumping games and competitions! Then be transported through the lenses of your snorkel mask into the underwater marine ecosystem below, as you explore this marine conservation area and protected Seahorse breeding site!

Fish, crabs, seals, starfish, seahorses and lobsters are all found below the water’s surface so look closely!

Cribbar Reef

Just a stones throw from the Gazzle and Newquay Activity Centre is Cribbar reef, a renowned big wave spot in the winter months but more often, the tranquil home to a rich array of reef loving wildlife. There isn’t a better place on a calm sunny day to see Newquay’s rocky reef structure and discover a historic boat wreck up close!

Little Fistral

Paddle closer into the headland and you’ll be in the cove of Little Fistral, just 200metres along from the world famous Fistral Beach. It’s rock pools and lagoons host an abundance of miniature sea life easily watched and examined with your instructor from the SUP and water’s edge! With the iconic Headland hotel overlooking the snorkel site, it’s a view like none other from the board towards the land.

What could we see during the adventure?

  • Starfish
  • Spider crabs
  • Pasty crabs
  • Flatfish
  • Wrasse
  • Grey Mullet
  • Bass
  • Sand eels
  • Lobsters
  • Pollock

By the end of your session you will have learnt how to kneel and paddle the SUP effectively as a team, safely navigate the Newquay coast and identify local marine life. Your instructor will also manoeuvre the board through rocky inlets whilst you watch the reef pass below.

This is the perfect activity for all ages and abilities and a fantastic opportunity to peak below the water line around Newquay’s stunning coastlines!
