HOW DOES IT WORK?

This is an advanced surf lesson and we will focus on the more advanced elements of surf coaching. We focus on the key elements to help you progress your surfing fast.  These include.

Positioning in the Sea:

Our instruction delves into the art of positioning in the ocean, guiding surfers to  position themselves in the right spots to catch the optimal part of the wave. Understanding the dynamics of wave formation and selection is fundamental to maximising the surfing experience.

Mastering Turns:

We provide comprehensive training on executing turns with finesse, both to the left and right. This includes techniques for carving and smoothly transitioning between turns, adding versatility to a surfer’s skill set.

Board Trimming for Extended Rides:

Our programs emphasise the importance of board trimming to ensure longer rides. Surfing enthusiasts learn how to adjust their body positioning and distribute weight on the board for enhanced stability and increased ride duration.

Ocean Awareness and Reading Waves:

Reading the ocean is a crucial skill we impart, fostering a heightened sense of wave awareness. Understanding wave patterns, swell directions, tides and ocean currents enables surfers to anticipate and navigate through the ever-changing dynamics of the surf environment.

Speed and Manoeuvrability Techniques:

Our instruction covers the principles of speed generation and manoeuvrability, enabling surfers to harness the energy of the wave efficiently. Techniques for accelerating, maintaining speed, and executing agile manoeuvres are thoroughly explored.

Advanced Technical Moves:

For those seeking an even greater challenge, we delve into the realm of advanced technical moves. This includes mastering bottom turns for increased speed and control, as well as executing top turns with precision and style. These advanced manoeuvres elevate a surfer’s skill level and provide a platform for creative expression on the waves.

All this why having the advantage of using our purpose-built activity centre as your base on Fore Street, right in the heart of Newquay.  We’re conveniently located for surfing at Fistral beach or Great Western. You’ll use quality Rip Curl wetsuits and get changed in our our heated changing rooms. We also have safety lockers to store your clothes and valuables before heading down to the beach. We have over 100 boards to choose from with different lengths and build construction, so you’ll be sure to find something that’s right for you.
