Our Family Surf Lessons offer a private group experience and we welcome children from the age of 3 years and upwards. All children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the activity.  Our Family Surf Lessons are memorable, exhilarating, safe and fun for kids of all ages. Not only are they a sure way to get the kids off their mobile phones, they are comparatively low cost compared to other family outings in the South West. WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

At the Newquay Activity Centre’s Cornwall Surfing School, we offer two-hour private surfing lessons designed specifically with families in mind. Here you will learn the fundamentals of surfing, ocean awareness, beach safety, surfing equipment and surfing terminology. We provide the perfect balance of fun, education and safety.

What’s more, imagine how cool you’ll become when your children return to school with tall tales of surfing adventures!

We’ll teach you how to catch your first wave, how to stand up and how to ride white water breakers right to the beach. Our team of highly experienced and Surf England qualified instructors offer supervision and guidance throughout your lessons, so you learn quickly and safely in your own time. Just like our other beginner lessons, our Family Surf Lessons take place in waist-deep water to maintain a safe and sensible approach to learning.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE FAMILY SURF LESSONS?

Having full access to our heated changing rooms, you will be issued with comfortable and stylish Rip Curl wetsuits to change into. We also have secure lockers to store your clothes and valuables while you’re in the ocean.

We hold a range of equipment for all ages and sizes and use premium quality Swell foam

surfboards for all our beginner sessions. These offer the most stable platform on which to learn. We guarantee the very best equipment of any of Cornwall’s surfing schools.

The Newquay Activity Centre Surf School Cornwall takes surfing seriously; we’re a certified ISA and Surfing England Centre Of Excellence and two times winner of the Cornwall Tourism Awards. Our surfing lessons and courses have been designed by British Team Coach, Rob Barber and multiple British Champion, Johnny Fryer.

We have a brand new, purpose built centre for 2021 conveniently located near Towan beach. We have hot showers, heated changing rooms, lockers, separate male & female toilets and clothing storage. We also boast a brand new hire centre for all your needs after your lesson.
