LEARN TO STAND UP PADDLEBOARD!

With the correct safety advice and instruction, stand up paddle boarding is quick and easy to learn. First, our instructors will teach your stag or hen group the basics, then the tour kicks off with a unique and exhilarating perspective from which to view Newquay’s dramatic coastline. From the sheltered smugglers coves of Towan Head, to the harbour and Newquay Bay; Newquay has SUP locations and coastal routes perfect for SUP adventures of every description.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your group will be provided with your own paddleboards, paddles, Rip Curl wetsuits and buoyancy aids at our purpose-designed centre, just a short walk from Towan beach. After a water safety briefing and a lesson in basic paddle skills, you’ll launch from a sheltered section of coastline and begin your stand-up paddleboard stag or hen-do adventure in Newquay!

We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the paddleboards will be waiting in the cove for you.

By the time you step back on dry land, our SUP Lesson & Tour should have transformed you from complete newbie to confident paddler within a few short hours. Our experienced instructors will take you through the motions of standing up with a step-by-step guide on balance and control. Starting out on your knees, you will get a feel for this exciting new sport before advancing to a stand-up position when you feel safe and confident.

Our SUP Lesson & Tour has been designed to teach you many core skills including how to: launch and land, stand up and balance, hold your paddle, perform basic strokes and how to make directional changes. Our experienced instructors will also engage you with tales of the area’s history and information about the wildlife that calls it home.

INDUSTRY-LEADING INSTRUCTORS

Animated and fun-loving, our industry-leading instructors seamlessly become part of the group experience, sharing their passion, expertise and first-rate knowledge of the Cornish coastline. We love stag and hen do’s as much as you do and we pride ourselves on delivering a stag or hen do you’ll never forget!

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS EXTREME WEATHER?

We are super fortunate to operate many of our activities in the shelter of Towan beach. We choose the tide and weather times that deliver the very best conditions for Stand Up Paddleboard Tours. However, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes she may have different plans for us. We always check the forecasted conditions but if the wind or swell picks up unexpectedly, we will move your session on to our Super SUPs, this will ensure you still cover the same route and session content but will be on a craft that is more resilient against the conditions. Alternatively, we may offer a different time or location for your tour.

Over 95% of our tours go ahead unaffected by the weather but, in the unlikely event that this does happen, we have excellent back-up options for you to choose from. We appreciate your understanding.
