Kayak Tour Tailored To Your Group

As soon as you arrive at Newquay Activity Centre the fun begins! We’ll kick things off by getting everyone warmed up and full of beach safety knowhow. From here it’s time to learn about the equipment and the basic kayaking strokes before a quick round of ocean safety Q&A’s. Once the students are well-equipped with the kayaking basics, it’s time to hit the coastline for an exhilarating route of exploration.

We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the kayaks will be waiting in the cove for you.

We pride ourselves in sharing a well-rounded learning experience, which will on many tours see you given the opportunity to experience both a double and single kayak. If you start in a double kayak but want to try a single, we swap mid-way on either one of the secret beaches that we visit or in the ocean environment. We cannot guarantee that you will have a single or a double kayak for the duration of the tour. But will have the opportunity to experience both, or one or the other.

With a huge focus on safety, we’ll paddle into dramatic caves, caverns and coves whilst bringing history to life through stories of Cornwall’s dramatic past. As heads fill with tales of smuggling, piracy and shipwrecks, there will be different paddle techniques to master and waves to negotiate, as well as games and challenges to up the fun factor. We’ll also keep eyes peeled for wildlife, identify birds and marine life and share tips on how we can all take better care of the ocean.

Our School Kayak Lessons are an action-packed eco adventure that will build confidence in the water, teach ocean safety and give pupils that much-needed feel-good factor!

Bespoke Lessons For Your Curriculum

All of our school trip activities can be tailored to feature key curriculum topics and learning goals. From science, maths, English language and literature, to personal development, social skills, self-confidence and physical development. We specialise in helping pupils to harness every drop of learning potential that our amazing outdoor classroom offers.
