28 Jun Citroen launch their surf inspired C4 in association with Newquay Activity Centre
Gone are days where a listing in Yellow pages and an ad in the local rag was enough to keep the customers knocking at your door. Nowadays, keeping clients or attracting new ones involves an intricate web of SEOs, social media prowess, social responsibility and innovative marketing campaigns.
At the Newquay Activity Centre we are committed to continuous improvement, and not only in terms of developing our adventure activities and staff training, but in terms of devising innovative marketing campaigns, or what we term as “think outside the box strategies” to stay one step ahead of our competition.
Some years ago we secured a wetsuit sponsorship from Surf Giants Rip Curl, where by all of our instructors and clients wear Rip Curl wetsuits when surfing, bodyboarding, coasteering and stand up paddle boarding. This sponsorship has seen mutually beneficial results for both businesses. And it was through working with Rip Curl that we were approached by Citroen to launch their new surf inspired C4 Cactus Rip Curl model.
Being number 1 on TripAdvisor for surfing, a certified Surfing England Centre of Excellence and offering surf lessons designed by British Team Coach, Rob Barber, meant Citroen had access to our ‘authority’ in designing and branding their new surf wagon. Our instructors who are passionate and experienced surfers were given the chance to test-drive the C4 and offer valuable feedback to Citroen. – Second to a surfboard, an economical, spacious, resilient and stylish vehicle is indispensable to real surfers, and the C4 is exactly that.
It was a hugely successful launch that has been mutually beneficial to Citroen and ourselves, where the former benefits from our endorsement and technical knowledge, and where we benefit from access to a new market segment of customers and a innovative marketing campaign.
