WHAT IS THE NORTH COAST CHALLENGE?

Through cave exploration, sea swimming, low level climbing, leaping and laughing you will experience the best of our coastal route.  It will push your boundaries and boost your confidence in the most enjoyable way possible!

You’ll get kitted out in a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet in our on-site heated changing rooms before negotiating a route pioneered by shipwrecked sailors and tea plundering pirates. During our adrenaline-fuelled North Coast Challenge you’ll explore the smugglers caves and craggy crevices of Newquay’s Gazzle headland. For those who have enjoyed our Adventure Gully coasteer, this is a great opportunity to learn new skills, explore new areas and climb exciting new routes. Follow our expert guides to navigate the cliff line, wild swim between different sections of the route, traverse low level stretches, ride natural rapids and leap from cliff ledges into deep water plunge pools.

We have a selection of routes to choose from for challenging and exhilarating adventures. We’ll never throw you in at the deep end and there are always alternative routes to personalise the adventure for your ability. You can choose your own intensity; we’ve got your back and that’s a promise!

What’s more, our passionate team can teach you all about the marine life and heritage synonymous with the Cornish coastline.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?

From our brand new purpose-built centre, we will provide you with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. Once you’re comfortably kitted out from the warmth of our heated changing rooms, you’ll be given a full safety briefing and comprehensive instruction about correct coasteering techniques. You will cover how to enter and exit the water, traverse the cliff line and wild swim safely between sections of the route.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? 

Coasteering tackles a rugged coastal route so you will need to bring a pair of lace-up shoes with hard soles. Old trainers that fit you well will be perfect. If you don’t have any, we can provide trainers for a small hire charge. Remember to bring some swimwear to go underneath your wetsuit and a towel for afterwards. You’ll want to make the most of our hot outdoor showers back at base!
