Newquay’s surf scene has a new place to gather, as 10 Over Surf Shop officially opened its doors at the town centre this October.
The new store, located at 11 Cliff Road in Newquay, brings together a surf shop, cafe and barbers under one roof, with the new space offering stunning ocean views across Newquay Bay.
10 Over Surf Shop offers more than somewhere to pick up new surf hardware. It’s a place to browse boards and surf essentials, grab a coffee, get a fresh trim and catch up with friends. In the future there will be film screenings and events run out of the shop. The cafe is powered by Foundation Roasters and St Ives Brewery are stocking the bar.
The shop has been opened by Chris Thomson, who relocated it from outside Newquay at Lanteague. “Living in Newquay, I would walk past this shop every day,” said Chris of the space. “It’s been a dream to open something like this and with a patio overlooking the surf, great coffee, surfboards, wetsuits, clothes and more, it’s a brilliant gathering place for anyone.”
In the Heart of Newquay
Since launching in 2022, 10 Over has been building its place within Newquay’s surf community. The move to 11 Cliff Road marks an exciting new chapter for the independent surf shop, expanding its offering into a space designed around more than just surfing.
The cafe gives surfers, locals and visitors another spot to enjoy a coffee in Newquay, while the barbers adds a fresh dimension to the experience. Together, they create a relaxed, community-focused space that feels right at home in a town where surfing is as much about the people as it is about the waves.
