Seasonal Role

Are you looking to kick-start your career in the outdoor industry? Fancy spending your summer on the Cornish coast, surrounded by surfboards, Super SUPs and a buzzing team? This could be the role for you.

We’re on the hunt for a Centre Assistant to join our operations team here at Newquay Activity Centre. As a Centre Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of the crew — helping our instructors and guests have an unforgettable experience by keeping everything behind the scenes running smoothly.

From managing equipment and setting up sessions, to greeting customers and keeping the centre looking sharp, your role is hands-on, energetic, and full of variety. You’ll also have the chance to step up and cover key Supervisor tasks when needed, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and grow in the industry.

What you'll be doing:

  • Helping launch surf, coasteering and paddle sessions
  • Keeping kit organised, clean and ready for action
  • Welcoming guests and helping them with wetsuit hire
  • Assisting with bookings and enquiries
  • Following daily centre processes and helping with close-down
  • Stepping up when Supervisors are off-site or in-session

What we’re looking for:

  • A friendly, can-do attitude
  • Someone confident working outdoors (yes, even in drizzle!)
  • A great communicator who thrives in a team
  • Interest in watersports or outdoor activities
  • Someone who takes pride in doing a job well

Details:

  • Duration: Seasonal role
  • Approx. 30–37.5 hours per week
  • Full training provided

Marine Wildlife Cornwall.

Newquay Wildlife – 80 Marine Species Spotted While Coasteering in Cornwall!

On rare occasions throughout the year we get super low tides that recede a lot further than usual uncovering parts of this beautiful coastline that normally go unseen. Both the general public and CWT members were treated to a very special coasteer team that included Marine Awareness Officer Matt Slater and local Eco Coasteer legend Karl Fice-Thomson. Due to the extreme low tide it was predicted that an area already abundant in wildlife would prove extra special with rock pools and caves normally inaccessible a likely haven to different species.
