We all like to reminisce sometimes – it’s part of human nature. Remembering the finest parts of our journey and how we got to the here and now. Here at Newquay Activity Centre we’re no different. Our journey has been a long and, luckily, fairly successful one; we think that comes down to the variety we offer. Surf lessons in Newquay are a rite of passage for many when visiting Cornwall. The surf capital of the UK offers fantastic swell, crystal-clear waters and a relaxed atmosphere to boot.
Like many journeys, we have made twists and tweaks along the way. Adjusting as we go and moving forward as a company. Everything we’ve done has made us into who we are today – and we think that’s worth celebrating.

Not only is surfing the coolest sport around, it’s good for the mind, body and soul. Take the plunge with our world-class instructors for the ultimate beginner surf lesson. Whatever your age, ability level or motivation, our expert team will have you catching waves and surfing in no time with the best moments captured on camera for you to take home.
How does it work?
Our Explorer Surfing Lessons are specifically designed to get you up and riding as soon as possible. You’ll receive a master class in core surfing skills and practice under the expert guidance of our International Surfing Association instructors. It’s an immersive, comprehensive and addictive experience that you’ll want to keep practicing over and over again. With the smaller group you’ll receive feedback on every ride.
You’ll get suited up in Rip Curl wetsuits and ID vests in our heated changing rooms, with lockers to store your clothes and valuables, before hitting Towan Beach. We use premium quality Swell foam surfboards for our Explorer Surfing Lessons as they offer the most stable platform on which to learn.

“Am I too old? …I’m terrible at sport!” I hear you cry. Well in fact, it’s never too late or too early to start surfing regardless of age, background, experience or even balance. With our highly qualified and enthusiastic instructors we’re confident you’ll have an enjoyable first blast, and sure you’ll be coming back for another fix!
