It’s now August- the waters are nearing 20 degrees, their warmest temperature of the year, the sun is shining and the waves are crashing. If you’re looking to enjoy the surf through an activity which is minimal stress but maximum fun, why not try your hand at bodyboarding? At our centre on Fore Street, we offer a variety of different bodyboard sessions, from family lessons, bodyboarding weekends and equipment hire. A truly underrated sport, bodyboarding is an excellent way to get your adrenaline pumping, keep fit and have fun. It’s up there with our favourite activities at Newquay Activity Centre- it’s easy to learn, thrilling to master and invigorating to experience!
We are Europe’s #1 Bodyboarding School, and our sessions have been designed and implemented by former European winner Rob Barber. They merge simple techniques with championship quality, and are appropriate for all ages and abilities, from complete novices to top level competitors, and everyone in between. We use the highest quality kit and our sessions are run by our expert instructors. You are guaranteed to catch a wave within 10 minutes of your first session- just dive in and give it a go!
WHAT WE OFFER
BODYBOARD LESSON AND HIRE
It’s new, progressive and unique to Newquay Activity Centre. Learn to bodyboard in Newquay and pack in stacks of water time with our Bodyboard Lesson and Half-Day Hire! This flexible set-up allows you to combine an informative bodyboard lesson with a few solid hours of solo freedom all in the same day! Keep hold of the equipment, kick back on the beach and practice your skills as much (or as little) as you like. You’ll also have access to our changing rooms and facilities for the full day.
EQUIPMENT HIRE
If you are only down in Cornwall for a short amount of time, you might not want to splash out on a brand new, high quality bodyboard. This is totally understandable, but it often means that many budding bodyboarders end up purchasing a cheap polystyrene board. These are not only bad for the environment, as they so often are abandoned on the beach and pollute our oceans, but also are dangerous to ride- they snap easily and can leave you without a float or injured on the shore. That’s why we have an array of high quality, reliable kit that you can hire for however long you need. It’s an affordable, safe and effective way to get in amongst the swell during your holiday. If you are attending a session with us, your equipment is provided free of charge.
