NAC and Royal Navy Surf Team Sail To Victory

Book your next adventure!

A huge shout-out to the hard working, and hugely talented men and women of the Royal Navy & Royal Marine (RNRM) Surf Team. You are Newquay Activity Centre’s star pupils!

Newquay Activity Centre is a dedicated supporter of the RNRM and has played an instrumental role in coaching the elite crew; developing their skills across the bodyboard, shortboard and longboard divisions. We deliver two free coaching sessions per season to the team as part of our ongoing sponsorship of the organisation.

The RNRM team visits Newquay Activity Centre bi-annually for intensive land & water training sessions with surfing legend, and all round top guy, Alan Stokes. In addition to this, NAC provides the team with in-depth, technical video analysis sessions to build the self awareness of their performance, and help the athletes visualise their progression.

The RNRM Surf Team were crowned the 2023 Inter-Service Surf Champions at the recent comp held at Watergate Bay, despite some impressive competition from the RAF & Army Surf squads.

Here at NAC, we found ourselves having a proud parent moment when RNRM’s victory in both the Bodyboarding and Open division was announced. A superb effort from every member of the team!

Spring in Newquay

Sensational Spring In Newquay

April in Newquay was all blue skies and calm seas. From beginner surf sessions to scenic kayak tours and snorkel adventures, see what made this Easter break one to remember.

Marine Wildlife Cornwall.

Newquay Wildlife – 80 Marine Species Spotted While Coasteering in Cornwall!

On rare occasions throughout the year we get super low tides that recede a lot further than usual uncovering parts of this beautiful coastline that normally go unseen. Both the general public and CWT members were treated to a very special coasteer team that included Marine Awareness Officer Matt Slater and local Eco Coasteer legend Karl Fice-Thomson. Due to the extreme low tide it was predicted that an area already abundant in wildlife would prove extra special with rock pools and caves normally inaccessible a likely haven to different species.
