Thursday 6th July saw the grand finale of the latest Outdoor Activity Instructor Course, which meant it was time for our students to spread their wings and join the team as fully fledged instructors, just in time for peak summer season.
The students leave the course with their qualifications, but naturally still have lots of experience to gain in the real world of outdoor instructing, so it’s perfect timing that they’ll be able to bounce straight into the peak summer months and get hundreds of hours of work experience under their belts within a matter of weeks.
Newquay Activity Centre is a training hub, where progression is encouraged and regular CPD is included in structured staff training sessions. So even though the course is over, the learning never ends; well done to Rosie, Nina, Lahra, Daisy, Erin, Alex, Oleks, Prim & Robbie, you’ve settled in to Newquay Activity Centre really well and are absolutely smashing it… as well as delighting our customers.
Here’s what a few of them have said:
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the past few days. I really enjoyed the lessons. Erin is an absolute joy to be around. She was supportive, helpful and a total cheerleader!”
“We did surfing , big sup, and sea swimming. It was fab and all our instructors were fantastic. Massive Thanks to Robbie, Daisy & Erin you all rock and made my weekend xxx”
The next course run by the Outdoor Activity Instructor Academy starts on the 11th September 2023. It will run 4 days a week for 13 weeks and will cover bodyboarding, surfing, coasteering & paddlesports; to learn more or claim a space on the next course please visit our website.
