Newquay Activity Centre’s legendary charity coasteer will once again take place on New Years Eve and raise money for the Royal British Legion – Poppy Holidays.
New Years Eve adventure
The habitual New Year Coasteer has previously attracted adventurous men, women and children as they join Newquay Activity Centre’s coasteering experts and jump into the cool Cornish seas to raise money for charity and welcome in the New Year with a splash!
Assembling in the crisp winter day on New Year ’s Eve the group will be kitted out with equipment and a briefing held at the Newquay Activity Centre. The group will then head out onto the beautiful coastline and embark on an ocean adventure, visiting iconic landmarks such as the old lifeboat slipway.
The New Years Eve coasteer on the 31st December will start at 12pm until 2pm. The entry fee is £45 per person which will be donated to the The Royal British Legion.
Winter Coasteering- a new experience
Winter coasteering is a unique experience as the winter conditions lend themselves to a very exceptional coasteering event, Newquay Activity Centre’s director Rob Barber explains ‘whilst advancement’s in winter wetsuits means that you’re kept toasty and warm, winter coasteering gives you a real sense of achievement, as you brave the winter elements and step out of your comfort zone. Whatever the weather it can be glorious winter sunshine or icy rain but we can guarantee that coasteering will leave you feeling energised and invigorated. It’s a really great way to start the New Year”
Fundraising on New Year’s eve
This year the coasteer will aim to raise money for The Royal British Legion- Poppy holidays. If you are looking to end the year with big splash or want to enter the New Year with gusto! Then a winter coasteer is certainly a memorable way to celebrate!
