Newquay Activity Centre is proud to support Newquay DIY SOS

Our love for Newquay is no secret so when we heard about plans to renovate Beach Road on zero budget using only donated materials and the help of volunteers, we were one of the first businesses to throw up our hands up in support.

Spearheaded by local legend, Jon Goodman, who has already helped deserving local families and masterminded campaigns to revive iconic landmarks, the project is Newquay’s latest take on DIY SOS.

Beach Road sits in a stunning position just behind us overlooking Towan Beach and is now looking mighty fine having been spruced up and restored to its former glory. We rolled up our sleeves and joined the passionate volunteers to paint railings, tidy up the balcony and breathe new life into the area.

We’re proud to be part of Newquay’s regeneration and are passionate about working alongside fellow businesses to enhance our incredible outdoor spaces. This is a true example of Newquay’s amazing community spirit. Great work by all!

Both the general public and CWT members were treated to a very special coasteer team that included Marine Awareness Officer Matt Slater and local Eco Coasteer legend Karl Fice-Thomson. Due to the extreme low tide it was predicted that an area already abundant in wildlife would prove extra special with rock pools and caves normally inaccessible a likely haven to different species.
