The team at the Newquay Activity Centre were ecstatic to receive silver at the South West Tourism Awards in a fun filled ceremony in Devon. On a night with bow ties and posh frocks the team managed to scrub up rather well for the Exeter Cathedral event that provided a scrumptious 3-course dinner and the odd glass of wine and champagne too. After recently winning gold at the Cornwall Tourism Awards, the South West recognition is a very welcomed addition to the trophy cabinet and the team celebrated the achievement in style!
Cornwall Tourism Sets High Standards
The very glamorous and regal setting was full of businesses from all over the region that have gained credit for delivering exceptional standards in their field thus far. Tourism covers a wide range of industries from hotels, pubs and restaurants to events and experience providers. The competition was fierce but Cornwall did the county proud scooping a whole host of awards during the event. Cornwall has set the bar high and we are proud to be a part of this amazing ethos that is helping the region thrive every year. Director Rob Barber commented, “It has been a fantastic 12 months here in Newquay and we are all thrilled to receive another great award. Tourism is a vital component in Cornwall’s identity and we are incredibly proud to be considered as one of the top providers not only in Cornwall but now in the wider South West as well. Our constant hard work and dedication in providing the best surf lessons, bodyboard and coasteering sessions is paying off and we can’t wait for the year ahead!”
Newquay Activities – The Future
There is no doubt the team are going to build on our recent success and aim to come back next year to grab the gold! As a team we are always looking at ways in which we can improve our service and activities. We are very lucky to be in the most beautiful setting and it is our job to find the safest ways to enjoy the elements and everything that Cornwall has to offer.
Through surf and bodyboard lessons people are pushing boundaries, getting healthy and learning some new skills. We want to keep encouraging people to take up these fantastic sports as they really are addictive and one of a kind. We are creating new packages for all types of learners and improvers in order for everyone to maximize their enjoyment and benefit from the top quality instruction we are proud to offer. Coasteering, the latest and most exhilarating way to experience the coastline is constantly growing in popularity. We are always developing new routes and challenges in order for people to come back again and again.
As well as our general activities we will continue to look at ways to work with charities and organizations that can also benefit from Cornwall’s environment. Stay tuned for announcements during the year on our events.

The morning after there were a few sore heads but the team traveled back to Newquay with big smiles on their faces. We can’t wait for the season ahead and look forward to joining you in the ocean some time soon! Thank you to everyone who has supported and joined us over the last 20 years, without you this wouldn’t be possible.
