Getting WAY too excited to defend their title for the JOE WAY Paddle for Life this week!
This Thursday 23rd, will see the return of the epic ‘Joe Way Paddle for Life’ event held a Newquay Harbour and Newquay Activity Centre is preparing to defend their winning title.
Newquay Activity Centre are also once again thrilled to be called in as the Paddle for Life water safety team, which will see the whole team volunteer their expertise, ensuring that everyone is safe in the water, making sure that races get off to a great start and that the competing event runs smoothly.
Newquay Activity Centre Director, Rob Barber says, “this is such a fantastic event which we absolutely love to be involved in. Matt Way and his family are just fantastic and they have created such a phenomenal fundraising event and of course, Joe Way has touched so many peoples hearts here in Newquay and beyond. The team will once again be inspired by Joe which will give us the extra drive to try and win again this year! Although the competition is really tough!”
Rob continues, “The community spirit at this event is amazing, with lots of families and friends down at the harbour, supporting their teams, kids and adults all competing whilst also enjoying food, drinks and entertainment- and that is what is really about, getting together for fun, for a great cause”
Starting from 4pm, this year will see an array of great musical talents, including The Steelers, Jamie Gifford, Emma Chamberlain and Late Ten Bob Notes.
With food outlets on the harbour wall and great raffle prizes, Newquay Harbour will be buzzing brightly in memory of Joe Way on Thursday.
