While we have had a blast surfing throughout winter, we are looking forward to welcoming spring. As the ocean begins to warm and the days get longer, no doubt our flip flops and sunnies will be out soon.
You may think that we are getting a little ahead of ourselves, but at this Newquay surf school, a little bit of sun goes a long way.
Book in a surfing lesson at our Newquay surf school and you can look forward to:
Ditching the Layers
As the temperate rises and the water warms up, you can throw away the winter warmers until next winter.
Of course even in wonderful Cornwall, spring does not always have dry weather, so you can rest assured that our wetsuits will protect you in all weather conditions.
Lighter Nights
Yes! Finally, you can look forward to longer surfing sessions as British Summer Time is on the horizon.
As the clocks change on the 29th March, you can plan surf lessons for late afternoon and early evenings.
What better way to de-stress after a tough day at the office than catching a few waves before you head home for the evening?
Festival Season Begins
As we enter spring, you can make the most of the fantastic array of festivals in Newquay. Many intimate music events take place in local bars and clubs and there are lots of outdoor sessions planned too.
Electric Beach Festival at Fistral takes place in June, as we head into the summer months and while we are talking about festivals, if you plan on coming to Newquay during summer, you will want to get your tickets now for the bigger festivals, including the Gold Coast Oceanfest and Boardmasters.
If music is not your thing, you can look forward the Newquay Arts and Culture Festival that runs from 27th April to 3rd May, or the fun Aspall polo on the beach in May.
The Competitions Begin
Newquay is one of the main destinations to head to if you want to take part in surfing competitions. Some competitions do take place in early spring, although the majority takes place in summer time.
You can get down to Newquay to get practising for the English National Surfing Championships or the Junior Surfing Champs for younger surf fans.
Holiday Time
The best thing about heading into spring is that we can all look forward to bank holidays. Less time at work means more time surfing, so what’s not to love?
Whether you want to work off all of that Easter chocolate or spend your May bank holiday hanging out at the beach, make a date with Newquay this year.
