Newquay is fast becoming the coolest surf town in the UK, with this summer seeing an influx in vibrant new cafes, pop ups and restaurants, serving everything from street food and sushi to waffles and coffee.
Here’s our top five picks for this summer:
Pachanga, Newquay
Nestled in the heart of Newquay , Pachanga is more than just a restaurant; it’s a labor of love and a celebration of authentic Mexican flavours.
At Pachanga, you’ll find a menu brimming with traditional Mexican dishes, each prepared with care and attention to detail.

Sushea, Fore Street
A brand new addition to Fore Street, Sushea is Newquay’s happening place, serving freshly rolled sushi all day alongside delicious gyozas, poke bowls and bao buns for takeaway. Their menu encompasses the very best of Asian fusion cuisine and we are delighted to be just a few stops down the road from them.
Sushea is open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-9pm and all Newquay Activity Centre customers receive a 10% discount.
The Boathouse, Newquay Harbour
Down at the harbour, the Boathouse has transformed into a spectacular street food market on the sand. You’ll find a delicious array of street food vendors which change from time to time- some of our favourites have included Mexican pop up El Huichol, Cornish Venison, Load-A-Waffle, Elseafood, Fat Cat Cornwall and Archar Street Food. All of these options, alongside fresh seafood from the Harbour Kitchen and drinks from the Boathouse Bar, can be ordered to your table and enjoyed with a view. Their new extended seating area sees tables right on the sand, as well as undercover and on the deck overlooking the water.
Beach Bakery, Towan Beach
For your fix of pasties, cream teas, coffee, cakes or beachside snacks, look no further than the Beach Bakery down on Towan. Situated right by the beach, it’s our go-to place for grabbing a hot drink straight after a heavy surf session. Wander up, wetsuit still dripping and feet still sandy, and tuck into the best of Cornish comfort food in the sunshine.
Our visitors get a 10% discount down at Towan Beach Bakery, so tuck in after your session has finished.
Box and Barber, Fore Street
What started as a takeaway coffee shop has now blossomed into Fore Street’s most popular brunch and lunch spot. Their diverse and healthy menu includes an array of plant based dishes, fresh fish, wraps and smoothie bowls, and they serve what’s regarded as Newquay’s best coffee, as well as a selection of natural wine. Tasty, nutritious food served in their stylish, laid back interiors- what’s not to like?
