Newquay Activity Centre and over 25  brave ocean adventures embarked on a very special charity coasteer this year and raised over £800 for two special causes.

The legendary, annual,  charity coasteer saw the addition of the awesome Super SUP, the new inflatable surf raft that recently arrived at the centre to aid the  popular and ever increasing range of exciting ocean activities on offer. Split equally, £400 will be donated to the SSAFA, the armed forces charity and £400 will go to the Help Izzy Walk campaign. The SSAFA is the UK’s oldest national military charity that provided lifelong support for the forces and families.

The habitual New Year’s Eve coasteer welcomed the adventurous men, women and children as they joined Newquay Activity Centre’s coasteering experts to jump into the cool Cornish seas to raise money for charity and welcome in the New Year with a splash! This year saw the addition of Newquay Activity Centre’s multi person Stand Up Paddle Board, which  increased the fun and the overall experience.

Assembling on the crisp winter New Year’s Eve morning, the group was kitted out with equipment and given a briefing at the Newquay Activity Centre at 9am. The group then headed out onto the beautiful coastline and embarked on a thrilling ocean adventure, visiting iconic landmarks such as the old lifeboat slipway and old smugglers caves.

Rob Barber Director of Newquay Activity Centre says “It was a really fun coaster session with a great group of people, who made it an awesome New Year’s  Eve adventure. Everyone had a great time the group were thrilled to experience our new Super SUP and we are thrilled to raise that amount for Izzy and SSAFA”

Sensational Spring In Newquay

April in Newquay was all blue skies and calm seas. From beginner surf sessions to scenic kayak tours and snorkel adventures, see what made this Easter break one to remember.

Marine Wildlife Cornwall.

Newquay Wildlife – 80 Marine Species Spotted While Coasteering in Cornwall!

On rare occasions throughout the year we get super low tides that recede a lot further than usual uncovering parts of this beautiful coastline that normally go unseen. Both the general public and CWT members were treated to a very special coasteer team that included Marine Awareness Officer Matt Slater and local Eco Coasteer legend Karl Fice-Thomson. Due to the extreme low tide it was predicted that an area already abundant in wildlife would prove extra special with rock pools and caves normally inaccessible a likely haven to different species.
