We were stoked to have a visit from Newquay Voice Reporter, Warren Wilkins and his son last month for a Super Stand Up Paddle Boarding experience in Newquay, Cornwall!

We say it a lot, but Newquay’s craggy coastline really is the best adventure playground and this summer, you can explore it on our brand new Super Stand Up Paddle Boarding experience! Navigate your around Newquay’s historical shorelines and natural caverns whilst exploring the history and wildlife of the local area. We’ll kit you out in a top range wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle before you head down to the water’s edge and launch the board as a group.

With the guidance of Newquay Activity Centre Senior Instructor, Mark Kelly, Wilkins and his son headed out under bright, warm sunshine to explore the Gazzle on the paddleboard.

Wilkins said:

“There is an abundance of interesting features to navigate around, which included Dead Man’s Cove and the Tea Caverns, reputedly a haunt of smugglers in days gone by to stash their booty, and up above, the Huer’s Hut was standing over us.”

“There was also a lot of wildlife around with the friendly seal making an appearance. A colony of Kittiwake gulls nest at this time of the year so we had to make sure we kept a good distance to ensure they were not disturbed.”

But if you’re keen to take the plunge, the SUP makes an excellent diving board!

Why not combine the Stand Up Paddle Boarding experience with an adrenaline fuelled coasteer? Paddle board as a group with a variety of exciting games before re-joining the coasteer route and getting hands on with its ledges and leaps.

Sensational Spring In Newquay

April in Newquay was all blue skies and calm seas. From beginner surf sessions to scenic kayak tours and snorkel adventures, see what made this Easter break one to remember.

Marine Wildlife Cornwall.

Newquay Wildlife – 80 Marine Species Spotted While Coasteering in Cornwall!

On rare occasions throughout the year we get super low tides that recede a lot further than usual uncovering parts of this beautiful coastline that normally go unseen. Both the general public and CWT members were treated to a very special coasteer team that included Marine Awareness Officer Matt Slater and local Eco Coasteer legend Karl Fice-Thomson. Due to the extreme low tide it was predicted that an area already abundant in wildlife would prove extra special with rock pools and caves normally inaccessible a likely haven to different species.
