LEARN TO STAND UP PADDLE BOARD!
With the correct safety advice and instruction, stand up paddle boarding is quick and easy to learn. First, our instructors teach you the basics, then the tour kicks off with a unique and exhilarating perspective from which to view Newquay’s dramatic coastline. From the sheltered smugglers coves of Towan Head to the harbour and Newquay Bay; Newquay has SUP locations and coastal routes perfect for SUP adventures of every description.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You’ll be provided with your own paddle board, paddle, wetsuit and buoyancy aid at our purpose-designed centre, just a short walk from Towan beach. After a water safety briefing and a lesson in basic paddle skills, you’ll launch from a sheltered section of coastline and begin your private stand-up paddle board adventure in Newquay!
We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the paddleboards will be waiting in the cove for you.
Witness Cornwall’s dramatic coastline from a new perspective as your private instructor takes you on a tour of Newquay’s many bays, caves, cliffs and coves. Learn about the fascinating history synonymous with this part of the county and experience some native wildlife up close in its natural habitat.
By the time you step back on dry land, our Private SUP Tour should have transformed you from complete newbie to confident paddler within a few short hours. Our experienced instructors will take you through the motions of standing up with a step-by-step guide on balance and control.
Starting out on your knees, you will get a feel for this exciting new sport before advancing to a stand-up position when you feel safe and confident. We’re committed to an entirely relaxed and pressure-free environment so feel free to take things at your own pace.
TAILORED SUP EXPERIENCE
As Trip Advisor’s number one provider of water sport activities in Newquay, our team of instructors are experts in providing tailored experiences specially developed for your requirements. Together you’ll explore the secret coves and tidal inlets of our coastline whilst learning all about Newquay’s dramatic history.
MAXIMUM FUN, MINIMUM HASSLE
Our HQ, just a short walk from Towan Beach, is the perfect place to prepare, change and keep your belongings safe whilst enjoying your own private SUP Tour. We’re easily accessible with a number of pay-to-park options nearby. We are also within walking distance from the town centre and its many surf shops and cafes.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS EXTREME WEATHER?
We are super fortunate to operate many of our activities in the shelter of Towan beach. We choose the tide and weather times that deliver the very best conditions for Stand Up Paddleboard Tours. However, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and sometimes she may have different plans for us. We always check the forecasted conditions but if the wind or swell picks up unexpectedly, we will move your session on to our Super SUPs, this will ensure you still cover the same route and session content but will be on a craft that is more resilient against the conditions. Alternatively, we may offer a different time or location for your tour.
Over 95% of our tours go ahead unaffected by the weather but, in the unlikely event that this does happen, we have excellent back-up options for you to choose from. We appreciate your understanding.
