WHAT IS OUR HERITAGE SUPER SUP TOUR?
Our Heritage Super SUP Tour is a journey through time where you will visit some of Newquay’s most fascinating and historical coastal locations. Drenched in tales of seafaring pirates and enchanting mermaids, you will get to follow courses set by swashbuckling smugglers dating all the way back to the 1700’s.
You will have all the time you need to really put yourself in the shoes of the legends of old. Let the ocean spray take you back in time and cast your eyes upon the same sights that were present 300 years ago. Imagine who could have entered these caves? What secrets have been lost to the seabed? and just how tough was the return journey to the Caribbean?
WHERE WILL WE EXPLORE?
We launch and land from two of Newquay’s lush, semi-secret coves. The start to experience is an adventure, as we walk down a rock path to the water’s edge. It’s worth it as the scenery is breath taking, there is some incredible coastal wildlife in the area, and you really are experiencing the best of Newquay’s coastal fringe. We take the walk down to the water slowly, the Super SUP will be waiting in the cove for you.
These same shores hold stories of the rise and demise of the once great pilchard industry in Newquay, heroic RNLI rescues in high seas and old fisherman’s tales from the deep. You will also learn some interesting facts about the biggest waves ever ridden at the Cribbar reef …all to be unravelled on your Heritage paddle boarding tour!
In addition to becoming a novice maritime historian, you will also get to appreciate the abundance of marine, bird and wildlife natives that grace this coastline. We’ll also moor up for a series of hilariously fun paddle boarding games including Dizzy Stick and King of the SUP; all helping you to up-skill your SUP balance ability and find your sea legs.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
For your Heritage Super SUP Tour, we’ll kit you out with a top of the range wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle from the comfort of our heated changing rooms. Once you’re warm and safe, your group will follow one of our guides down to Newquay Bay and help launch this giant craft – all aboard!
Our Heritage Super SUP Tour has been designed to teach you many core skills including how to launch and land, stand up and balance, hold your paddle, perform basic strokes and how to make directional changes as a team. It’s natural to begin your Super SUP Tour kneeling down on the board, many people do. Our coaches are there to guide you step-by-step in confidently progressing from kneeling to standing, by the end of the lesson you’ll be a pro!
OUR EXPERTISE
While well known big wave surfers like Jamie O’Brien made the SUPsquatch or Monster SUP famous by catching huge waves in Hawaii, it was NAC who pioneered the craft for touring.
There was no such thing as a Super SUP tour, it was NAC’s brainchild. We even came up with the name Super SUP!
After launching the company in 1996, we have catered for over 200,000 guest experiences. It is guest feedback that helped us to create our Super SUP tours, Super SUP Coasteers, Super SUP snorkel tours and other bespoke experiences. We’re simply re creating what we have spent our lives doing on the Newquay coastline. Director Rob Barber shared his experiences of cave exploration, lagoon snorkelling and sluice ride paddling and the thousands of 5 star trip advisors have been the result.
Having pioneered the development of the Super SUP tour as an activity, and introducing it to the coastal activity market, we have now, using a hybrid of our coasteering and paddlesports training programmes successfully built a module which is delivered within our 3 month Outdoor Instructor Academy qualification.
