PRIVATE SURF LESSON
Embark on a two-hour surfing experience with our One-on-One Private Surf Lesson in Newquay, designed to provide concentrated coaching and assistance for rapid skill development. Ideal for those eager to fast-track their learning process, these sessions are tailored to your individual needs.
We have a new, purposely designed surf conveniently located between Fistral and Towan beach. We have heated outdoor showers, heated changing rooms, lockers, separate male & female toilets and clothing storage. We also boast a brand new hire centre for all your needs after your lesson.
SURF LESSON TAILORED TO YOU
When you arrive your qualified coach will meet you, assess your surfing background, and customise the lesson based on your current skill level. If you’re a beginner, the initial part of the lesson will cover essential aspects on the beach, including safety, ocean awareness, and fundamental surfing techniques. Once the basics are covered, we’ll transition into the water.
For those with prior surfing experience, we’ll review the conditions and dive into the water to maximise your time riding the waves. Throughout the entire session, our approach is hands-on, ensuring an interactive and engaging learning experience. This involves continuous communication and coaching, assistance in catching waves, guidance on ocean positioning and timing, and focused attention on paddling, turning, and stance. Our primary goal is to maximise your wave count, ensuring you catch as many waves as possible.
VIDEO FOOTAGE OF YOU SURFING
Whilst your instructor is in the water with you, they will be capturing footage of you at
close quarters. Using a state-of-the-art handheld GoPro 10, we ensure the highest quality content by shooting in stunning HD resolution. This technology ensures crisp and detailed imagery and means your video will be perfect for analysing your technique or simply sharing on your social media platforms!
After you have left the centre a link will be sent to you of footage where is will be available for you to download and keep forever!

OUR EXPERTISE
Our Newquay Surf School is the longest longest running, launched in 1996. Drawing from his experience as the British and English Surfing Team Coach, each surf lesson package has been bespoke designed by company Founder, Rob Barber, to cater for beginner surfers and those more experienced surfers.
We have 3 sister companies, Women + Waves, Bodyboard-Holidays and Outdoor Activity Instructor Academy.
Our Newquay Activity Centre surf instructors pass through a 3 month long training course prior to starting work with us, in order to deliver our surf lessons. With over 200,000 guests passing through the centre, more than any other surf school in the UK, our experience has been gained organically and reflects in our endless positive results. Our surfing instructors complete their Beach Lifeguard Qualification (or equivalent), their International Surfing Association qualification but notably also undergo ongoing in-house training designed by company founder and previous British and English Surfing team coach, Rob Barber.
