Major Cliff Fall at Whipsiderry Beach, Newquay, Cornwall!

At around 1:30 pm (Wednesday, November 29), a significant cliff fall occurred at Whipsiderry Beach in Newquay, prompting a serious warning to the public. The Save Whipsiderry Cliffs campaign swiftly shared details on social media, emphasising that “much more is expected to fall.”

The stark warning urges everyone to stay away from the area as the cliff is highly unstable, and the risk of additional falls is imminent. The campaign stated, “Stay away. Major cliff fall at Whipsy happened in the last 30 minutes. The cliff is highly unstable, please stay away, much more is expected to fall.”

This incident follows concerns raised by campaigners seeking to prevent a luxury clifftop housing development above Whipsiderry Beach, fondly known as Whipsy. Earlier this year, developers Living Quarter Properties (Porth) Ltd had their license suspended due to fears that their construction work could compromise the stability of the cliff.
